Coffee Filter Easter Egg Craft

This coffee filter Easter egg is the perfect Easter craft for kids of all ages. It’s ideal for preschool and kindergarten children, but older kids enjoy making these as well.

They are easy to make at home or school, use affordable craft supplies, and only take about 20 minutes (plus drying time).

I love how many different ways you can decorate with them when finished too.

Spring Coffee Filter Egg Craft

These easy eggs are the perfect inexpensive Easter craft project to make as a family at home or at school for a simple spring art center activity.

They require only a few simple supplies, are quick to make and can be used to make a variety of fun Easter-themed decorations. Coffee filter Easter eggs are also a less messy alternative to dyeing Easter eggs.

Benefits of Making Coffee Filter Easter Eggs

Preschoolers and kindergartners will practice fine motor skills as they color the coffee filters with water based markers.

Elementary school age children can practice tracing a pattern and cutting with scissors.

The main thing is to have fun with coloring your egg! You can add a variety of designs and patterns to decorate them.

Children will love spraying these coffee filters with water and watching the colors blend too.

You can also add this to your science activity planner and use it as a mini science lesson with them: experiment with putting specific colors next to each other creates new colors during the blending stage.

These may require additional drying time depending on how much water is sprayed on the coffee filter during the blending stage.

It’s important to protect your work surface by placing the coffee filters on top of a craft mat, parchment paper, zippered plastic bag, or even a paper plate before spraying.

While waiting for the coffee filters to dry, have the kids work on these Easter coloring bookmarks.
