My Baby Pumpkin {Chasing Fireflies Halloween Costume Review} #wishcraft #msm

Halloween is right around the corner! For our household that holds greater meaning this year because it will be my daughter’s FIRST birthday! I love Halloween anyway and now I’ll have to throw an awesome costume party every year. I’m totally bummed about this, can’t you tell? (*winkwink*)

One thing I have been obsessing over is Rissa’s first Halloween costume. I want it to be super adorable. While browsing Chasing Fireflies I saw so many adorable costumes! I decided I didn’t want to go with a princess or something like that only because she is likely to pick that on her own in the future. Seeing as how she’s my Halloween Pumpkin I thought that is what she should be this year!

I was very excited to have the opportunity to work with Chasing Fireflies. They have a lot of great costumes for the whole family – even the dog! There costume sizes fit from size six months to size 16. They have a wonderful selection of mother-daughter costumes. My husband thought that would be a good idea, but I think we’ll have more fun with that when she’s just a little bit older (and when I can fit into a size 16 or smaller again…). (At least Brian and I have matching shirts: Mummy and Deady!) They also offer a wide variety of Halloween decorations, accessories, and treats. I seriously could go broke shopping there – I wanted so many things!

Everything arrived wrapped, which I always think is a nice touch. I picked out the Pumpkin Patch Costume, a personalized trick or treat bag, glow in the dark jack-o-lantern leggings, and a lace spider web for the front door. I was a little anxious about the costume size being 6-12 month sized. I was worried it would be too short since she’s already in 12 month size clothes, but I figured going larger would be, well, too large.

As you can see, it fits and actually has room to grow! She’s skinny, so I wasn’t surprised about the extra room around her belly. I might stuff it to round out her pumpkin on our big day! The costume is quality made. It’s soft, velvety, and bright. The material is not thin, cheap or flimsy. It has snaps in the legs making it easy to get it on and off (and access the diaper). I don’t have to worry about the length because the footies aren’t attached! I was very happy about that. The hat goes on easily. I love that it fastens in the back rather than under the chin. It kept wanting to slide down her forehead, which she didn’t like. If she had thicker hair or a hat on (hey, Wisconsin Halloweens can have snow!) it would stay put better.

I really like what we received from Chasing Fireflies and highly recommend shopping there for your Halloween costume! I can’t wait to shop their mother-daughter collections starting in the next couple years.
