I didn’t think it was a family movie and age appropriate for the kids – I think I will wait for the DVD

Yeah your kids are pretty little. I wouldn’t take preschool aged kids to see it. Oddly enough I’d say The Avengers has almost the same level as violence as Cars 2 though. Cars 2 had a lot of shooting and threats of death, but people didn’t think twice about it since it was animated and didn’t have people in it.Syrana

We’ll definitely have to plan a date night for this weekend to go see it.

I agree, this is a mild PG13. All of my girls will be seeing this and they range from 6 to 14.

My 10 year-old son is dying to see this film and I was reluctant. I am glad you recommend it for 8+. I feel a bit relieved.

I think 10 is probably fine. Do you let him watch Pirates of the Caribbean? They both have epic battles but not bloody, gorey scenes, y’know?Syrana

This will be one my daughter won’t be seeing (she’s almost 3) even though she would probably love it. Probably not my parenting shining moment but she loves the movie Real Steel. She will repeatedly tell us, “that mommy fix that robot” so at least she’s learning that girls can fix things too…lol!

I agree with you about the appropriate age of 8 for a child to see this movies, although all children are different. I have always loved the Avengers and can’t wait to see itAnnJopb

Glad to hear it’s a family movie. We plan to see it this weekend. The older boys will be fine. Just worried about my 12 year old daughter and the violence.

Love this movie! I watched It and it is really action packed and exciting. I think 8+ sounds just right. I have a sister(9) and two brothers (8 and 11) who just can’t wait to see it!
