Home, Recovery, and Catching Up

I have been home from the hospital now for a few days. I’ve been “off” from the blog for at least a week and I’m trying to ease back in. Like with any job, the work piles up while you are off … But it’s always insane when it’s unexpected time off.

My email is still scary and I’m trying to work my way through it. We have lots of events and fun things lined up, but I’m not going to be able to maintain the same schedule I had written in my planner…

And our cloth diaper event is running into October since I wasn’t able to maintain the original schedule at the end.

Anyway… I’m home and recuperating. I’ve been so exhausted and taking lots of naps. I’m guessing my body is working hard on healing plus trying to make up for the lack of sleep I got for almost a week. All the pain I was in before being admitted to the hospital, then being awake for 24 hours when I was admitted, and then well… It’s hard to get sleep in a hospital and I was there for 4 days.

While I’m happy to have my gall bladder out and feel better now, my time in the hospital was not the best. The whole nursing issue I ran into? When we saw the surgeon the next day… Seems 24 hour wait wasn’t necessarily set in stone yet the nurses wouldn’t double check with him despite my requests. Then there were other issues I had with their response time to my call light, particularly after I was returned from surgery. I’m awaiting the survey so I can share….

Overall I feel better now though I’m still sore but haven’t needed my pain meds for a couple days now. (Those made it very hard to work on anything, even email!)

Oh and I have a week’s worth of winners to draw and notify yet!
