Trick or Treat: Save Your Teeth! { Review}

The Trick or Treat Halloween Hop will be here 10/28 to 11/2, so be sure to come back and enter! You can see some of the wonderful prize sponsors for the participating blogs here. Now, please take a moment to get to know one of our sponsors:

With all the sugary goodness that everyone will be feasting on this weekend (and winning!), we want to make sure you take care of those pearly whites! Just because jack-o-lanterns are standard Halloween decorations doesn’t mean you need to look like one year round. Oral hygiene is super important, especially for the kiddos. So, yes, enjoy some candy, but make sure you brush, brush, brush afterwards.

With hard economic times, not everyone has insurance or coverage allowing them to see the dentist regularly for cleanings and check ups. I think it’s pretty cool that we are going to giveaway a family dental plan! (Note: This is not insurance but it is a savings plan making your dentist visits more affordable.)  The winner will receive 15 months free! Anyone else that chooses to sign up can take advantage of their current promotion of 3 months free with a yearly plan. Plans start at $79.95 per year for individuals and $129.95 per year for families.

So how does a dental savings plan work? You are enrolled in the plan, which allows you access to savings on procedures at participating dental offices. A plan can save you 10-60% on most procedures at 100,000+ dental offices. Enrollment is so easy too. No crazy forms to fill out and we were enrolled within 3 business days. There are no annual limits and no health restrictions either. You can use it on it’s own or as a way to supplement your dental insurance. This can be helpful for cosmetic dentistry and orthodontia. Like when I had resin caps put in for my cavities rather than the silver caps, the resins were considered cosmetic and cost us extra.Try out the “Savings Genie” tool to search by dental procedure and find a plan that best fits your needs. There are over 30 plans to choose from, so there is bound to be one for you!

I searched their site for dentists in my area that accept a savings plan. It showed a list of providers, their locations, and which savings plans they accept. I found our dentist listed. During my enrollment process, a representative at called my dentist’s off to confirm what plans he would accept. He accepts the Aetna Dental Access plan, which is a very popular family plan with a yearly value of $159.95. While Brian has dental insurance for him and I, we have to wait until the next enrollment period to add our daughter. I want to take her in for her first check up before then. This plan will help me do that!

Now, get those toothbrushes ready!
