I thought this summer was already crazy enough with all of Rissa's activities, but I'm going to be pretty busy over the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately this might mean some inconsistent posting as I try to tackle content AND get sleep!
I've been to a gaming convention before (Blizzcon, anyone?) but I've never been to an actual blogging convention. Sure, when I attended Blizzcon I was blogging about gaming and met some other wonderful bloggers, but that conference focused on games and was attended by gamers. I know the overall feel of it will be similar, but I'm venturing into new territory!
The first conference I'm attending is on July 21, 2012, called Brands and Bloggers Summit. It takes place in Chicago (which is not too far from me) and lasts one day. It is filled with great learning sessions and networking time. I'm excited to meet some other Wisconsin bloggers while there and learn more about the brands sponsoring the conference. The overall size of the conference is smaller – about 150 bloggers, I think.
Then, the first week of August is BlogHer in NYC. This conference is huge with around 4,500 attendees. There are sessions, parties, and an Expo Hall filled with booths for awesome brands. It's like networking heaven! So many bloggers and brands in one place!
The conference itself is for three days. So, of course, to avoid missing too much I will be arriving the day before and leaving the day after. I'm not sure how much blogging I'll get done while there (if any), but I plan to tweet, post on Facebook, share photos on Instagram, and probably do a few quick video logs on YouTube.
Are you going to any conferences this summer? Anything you'd like me to report back on?
