Easy Felt Easter Egg Craft

No Sew Felt Egg Craft for Spring

Celebrate spring with this easy felt egg craft for kids of all ages. It’s also a fun alternative to dyeing Easter eggs (and overall less messy too).

Preschoolers and kindergartners can practice fine motor skills by helping to glue on supplies. They can also use a cotton swab to dip into the glitter glue and “paint” designs on felt eggs.

Elementary age children can do this craft mostly independently. They can practice their tracing, cutting and gluing skills.

Tips for Making Felt Easter Eggs

I recommend preparing a variety of supplies ahead of time so children can grab the various craft materials to decorate at one spot or station. 

You can use small cups or a painting palette to make this easier and to minimize clean-up.

Use serrated pinking shears to create zig-zag designs with the felt. Grown-ups can prep these ahead of time for young children to decorate with. 

You can also cut out felt shapes like triangles and circles to decorate the felt eggs.

When they are finished, turn them into cute Easter decor! 

Add a length of twine to the back with scotch tape or use a sewing needle to thread them onto it to create a lovely homemade Easter egg banner.

These also make great homemade gifts! Add them into an Easter basket as a cute and easy DIY Easter present or mail them.

The felt Easter eggs are lightweight and can easily be added into Easter cards for the perfect surprise for your friends and family.

Felt Easter Egg Craft Supplies:

• Easter Egg Craft (Medium) Template (available by filling out the form at the bottom of this post)
• 6 x 6 Basic Felt Sheets (pink, orange, green, blue, yellow, etc.)
• Sequins, small pom poms and/or mini buttons
• Ribbon in a variety of colors or sizes
• Glitter glue
• Aleene’s Felt & Foam Tacky Glue
• Scissors
• Serrated Pinking Shears to create wavy design felt (optional)
• Washable Markers (for tracing)

How to Make Felt Easter Eggs:

First you will need to download and print out our printable Easter Egg (medium size) craft template.

Trace the egg onto the felt using a washable marker on the back side of the felt.

Cut out your traced felt eggs.

Now it’s time to decorate! Glue on strips of felt, ribbon, pom poms, sequins and/or mini buttons. 

Use glitter glue to add sparkle or designs to your eggs.

Allow time to dry.

Trim any overhanging ribbon or felt, then hang or display your decorated felt Easter eggs.
