I’m serious – will you? I’ve alluded to changes since sharing my personal and professional goals for 2012. Slowly there’s been a shift around here and you all are going to notice it quite a bit more very soon. So, I figure I should give you fair warning now. I hope you all will stick around, but I realize that some of you may not like the changes coming. Well, I’m happy to say that half of last year’s goals were either completed or are currently in progress! Let’s see about those changes now, shall we?
Blog Changes and Goals for 2013
I will be doing an overhaul on my categories to clean things up a bit. There are various other housekeeping tasks that need to be done, but those are best suited for to-do lists. I just need to add this so I will work on it. Months have gone by since I first decided what needed to be done!
Yes, you read that right. This will be a drastic change. MUCH fewer giveaways. I am so burnt out on giveaway events and they are a lot of work in general. There’s posting, promoting, verifying winners, notifying them, and any of the follow ups to track down prizes. It gets to be way too much, especially when I have limited time to get work done each night. I have a few lined up for January that I already committed to, but after that you won’t see them very often. I’ll be cutting back on reviews as well. It’s time to focus more on our other content!
Less Frequent Posting
I’m aiming for 1-2 posts a day with no more than 3 on occasion. I’ve moved towards this and it seems to be fine with most of you. I just know I can’t keep up the insane posting schedule I used to do.
This is something you’ve seen me working on from reviews to rambles. My goal is to be creating weekly videos by April of this year. Oh and I need to stop procrastinating and missing the link ups at Mama Kat’s Losin’ It each week!
I want to attend 1-2 blogging conferences. I’m already booked for Blissdom in March!
I’ve fallen away from reading other blogs for fun and I need to be doing that more often. Unfortunately, my own blog has consumed me too much! It has to stop though.
We have some great discussions and chitchat on our Facebook fan page, but I need to work on replying to comments and in a more timely manner. I just want to move forward and DO IT. I need to make time at least 3 days a week to be sure I’ve read and replied to comments.
This list seemed longer and more complicated in my head…
What are your thoughts on these changes and goals?
