I love you!!!!!my kitchen is like yours. I have to say it’s bigger than your kitchen , but there are so many supplies and appliances. My cabinets are filled the appliances are weird shapes and sizes My husband bought me an Oster Kitchen Center twenty-five years ago. It had one base and all the different appliances used: a blender, mixer , ice cream maker food processor with all blades needed. I had to finally had to give it the last rites , after calling all over to see if the base could be repaired. It couldn’t and they are not made anymore. But, I do feel good knowing I am not the only one and once more thank you for sharing and I do feel better

Glad I made you feel better! Yes it’s so hard to store appliances without taking up a ton of room. I think I have too much “just in case” stuff too.Syrana

Our last home was built in 1962, and the kitchen was small with minimal cabinet and counter space. One thing that I did to manage the sippy cup issue was to limit the number we had. We had four – two for milk, two for water/juice. Reducing the number of cups was very helpful!

I wish I could reduce the cups but that’d never work for me! I need to reduce some other stuff though but it’s hard to decide on what to part with.Syrana

yes! yes! Yes! We have a pretty small kitchen.. its longer but fairly narrow, we do have an area off to the side at the end of the kitchen for the table. But we had a major lack of counter space and cabinet space. My dad remodeled our kitchen a few years ago, I love it.. we have more counter space & cabinets, but now that we’ve added a few more kids, it still doesn’t seem like we have enough room. And one of the cabinets that my dad added (a small one next to the fridge, by the back patio door, is a major catch all for junk. I am forever cleaning it and there is still a pile of “stuff”. Ugh. We also got a new table at that time, one I didn’t want but hubby and my parents talked me into it. I hate it. Its way too big for our little dining area. when all the chairs are around the table it blocks the doorway into the laundry room and gets in the way of the door to the patio. I want to get rid of it so bad!

Our 1907 kitchen is bigger than any I’ve ever owned, but so very oddly arranged. When we moved in, the stove was in the middle of the room! Not sure why, but it was and we moved it to a wall right away. I’d dreamed of a kitchen remodel, but it’s been 9 years, and all we’ve done is paint the walls and lose the cupboard doors. I took them off to paint them and I have no idea where they got to. But, it works and I can cook and listen to the kids talk of their day and have three dogs sit on the rag rug hoping for a crumb to fall. It’s still a weird kitchen, but it’s mine and I kind of like it!

Having moved around a lot, I’ve lived in a number of homes with teeny kitchens and even tinier counter space. It’s a nightmare, I agree! And as for all those plastic sippy cups and bottles that accumulate with kids… yes! I feel your pain. I’ve always struggled with finding a good way to organise them. Now that my youngest is three, I’m slowly (and sneakily) discarding them, and claiming back some space ;)
