Tales From the Nursery: The Toddler Years

Green Product Review | Aussan Natural All-Purpose Nursery Cleaner and Nursery Odor Eliminator

As much as I want things to be clean, I don’t want harmful chemical residue coming in contact with my daughter’s skin, nor do I want her breathing in chemicals from cleaners. Before getting pregnant I barely thought twice about it. Now, I am more concerned about what Rissa comes into contact with on a daily basis. More so than I’m concerned about myself, but that’s slowly changing too. I still wonder how a 100% natural cleaner can effectively get the job done, but I welcome the opportunity to try them.

Some do as well, if not better, than traditional chemical cleaners. Others don’t do so well or do very poorly. Aussan Natural creates ecofriendly products that are 100% natural. These use botanical ingredients and are non-toxic. I still wouldn’t want my daughter to drink the stuff, but I rest a bit easier that she shouldn’t be harmed if a little bit touches her skin.

Nursery All-Purpose Cleaner:

To Use: Spray generously on any hard, washable surface & wipe clean. Won’t leave any residue.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Botanically Sourced Glycerin, Citric Fruit Extract, Potash, Sodium Gluconate, Lemongrass Oil, Plant Bioflavonoids, Octanoic Acid, Lactic Acid

Nursery Odor Eliminator:

To Use: Spray directly into diaper pails, on car seats, strollers & high chairs, & mist throughout nursery and home. Safe for use on hard surfaces. For lighter fabrics, spot test an inconspicuous area. If odors persist, product has not reached the source. Reapply.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Eucalyptus Oil – Steam Distilled, Vanilla Bean Oil, Peppermint Oil, Botanically Sourced Glycerin, Plant Bioflavonoids, Octanoic Acid, Lactic Acid

I pretty much figure it’s a good sign when I can pronounce 99% of the ingredients correctly. It’s interesting though, because I didn’t read the ingredients until after I used them. The odor spray has a unique scent of sweet and earth intertwined. The cleaner I could smell the lemongrass right away!

They make a variety of cleaners for the home, car and boat. I received the opportunity to review Aussan Natural All-Purpose Nursery Cleaner and their Nursery Odor Eliminator. Now I can’t honestly say if it cleans better or deeper, since I lack the science equipment for that type of testing. I can tell you that it appeared to clean up the changing table and everything else I used it on. The smell of both products was very pleasant as well – not nostril stinging like chemical cleaner. The spray the odor eliminator after very dirty diapers or whenever that smell seems to be getting a bit strong. The spray helps it smell pleasant again!

Conclusion: This is a great line of natural cleaning products, too bad they aren’t available in stores locally. They are reasonably priced for the amount of product you receive as well.

Where to buy: On the website Aussan Natural and on Amazon

It is great to see them brand it as “nursery cleaner” -I have head of people using pet cleaner for the same thing (since it’s probably the same formula) – but this sounds nicer. :)meganr

I agree that most of the time if you can’t pronounce or understand the ingredients – you really don’t want them in your house. (or in your tummy for that matter)slehan

I really have been wanting to try and switch to all natural cleaning products around the house. This seems like a good brand to try.
