Tales From the Nursery: The Toddler Years

Aerobie Megatop Review

20120121-015746.jpgWe’ve brought you information about a couple other Aerobie products in the past, such as the Sprint Ring and the Skylighter.  Those are some awesome flying discs that my nephews enjoy.  Their newest toy is the Megatop Spinning Top.  Let me just make one thing clear here – the tops I had as a kid did not even have a fraction of the Megatop’s cool factor.  My tops were small and never did anything fancy.  (Then again, maybe I wasn’t any good with them?)

This top can achieve up to 3000 rotations per minute!  That’s insane!  It is a high performance top that includes a plate you can use to maintain spin time on (because it’s not hitting flaws in your floors).  You can do tricks too if you are more talented than I am.  (I never could do many yo-yo tricks either…)  It also has a spin booster so you can get this thing going for a long time.  The plate can also be used for tricks and for catching (though I’m nervous about the idea of throwing a spinning top around!).

Toys like this are great for boys 8 years and older.  (Yes, I gave this to one of my nephews to get good use out of it!)  It’s good for year round play – indoors or out!
