Tales From the Nursery: The Toddler Years

I Love the Prices at Cookies Kids! #LuvCookies #Cbias

Since it hasn’t snowed here by me yet (weird, really) I keep denying that it’s winter in Wisconsin.  Rissa isn’t sprouting as fast as she was so she’s not growing out of her 12 month sized clothes yet, but she’s mostly wearing short sleeves and dresses.  I can’t keep dressing her in these even if I’m layering them when we go out.  The snow will start to fly any day now and she needs to have winter clothes.  About a month ago I did buy her a winter jacket and snow pants.  They are pink and oh, so cute!  Even though I don’t particularly like snow (okay, I hate driving in it) I’m excited to see her play around in it for the first time.  She was just a little newborn last year and couldn’t care less what the weather was like as long as mom snuggled her close!

I needed boots to go with her snow suit, warm pajamas, some more long sleeved shirts, and a holiday dress.  I really wanted to dress her up for photo opps with the family for the holidays.  Normally I don’t like the idea of buying something so nice to be worn only once, but I might have her wear it on New Year’s Eve as well.  Any excuse to have her dressed up in it until it’s too small!  To me this is her first “real” Christmas because she’ll actually be aware of what’s going on.  So, it’s a special occasion that calls for a dress, don’t you think?

I kept hearing about how awesome Cookies Kids was for kids clothes, but I’d never shopped there before.  I headed over there and looked through winter wear, boots, dresses, and, of course, the clearance section!  They have some great prices and have toys too, not just clothes.  I did a quick search for some coupon codes and found a few, but chose to use UBUILD for a free game with a $25+ purchase.  (I don’t know if that code still works or not…)

I love it though, these Carter’s pajamas were $20.  I got them for $7.99.  And this 3 piece Calvin Klein set went from $34.99 to $24.99.  Not bad for name brand!  Oh, and we needed more socks.  I found a 3 pack for just a couple bucks.  To see all the fun stuff I found, check out my pictures on Google+.

While I love the prices and selection, I wish browsing was easier to do.  I’d like to view more options on a page at a time and would like a way to “go back” easier.  Once I’d click through to look at a dress, I couldn’t easily go back to where I had been browsing from.  Same with adding to the cart and selecting “continue shopping.”  I kept having to re-select categories etc.  The size overlap for Rissa was a little confusing too.  For clothes I looked under infants/babies but for shoes and boots I needed to go under 2T girls.

Shipping took over a week from the day I ordered, but Thanksgiving fell in there.  They’ve been busy lately anyway!  But this holiday dress was totally worth it!  Check out was easy and I could easily check on my order status from my account.

Hey, if you want to shop at Cookies Kids, you can sign up with my Refer-A-Friend link and receive $10 credit!  When you buy your first item, once it ships I’ll receive $10 in credits!  I love that we can both get $10.  Then you can refer people too!  I invited my sister to join and plan to invite more family members… they can shop for Rissa there!  Would love it if you joined me too!

Have you ever shopped at Cookies Kids?

I always wish I could shop for Lily more often. I guess I felt like it was a challenge because she doesn’t live close. I never thought about calling Tiffany on the phone, asking Lily’s current size, and having it shipped to her.GreenCntryGirl
