Shopping for gadgets and games always has an element of risk. My dad once told me years ago that as soon as a computer hits the store shelves, it’s already 6 months obsolete. I think there’s a bit of truth there! If you buy too quick the price will drop a week later or if you buy too late, the next new version cones out and you are stuck with an obsolete piece of junk. Well, it’s not always junk but we feel five steps behind the next new one. If only there was a way to know what a device or game will do in the next couple weeks.
Decide.com let’s you search for electronics and video games, helping you to make a buying decision or not. They’ve compiled data to help you know if you should buy now or wait based on price fluctuations and releases of other models. You can even browse price comparisons!
Besides accessing them on the web, they have a free app that I downloaded for my iPhone. You can use it to search and you can even scan bar codes and QR codes for price comparisons. I didn’t check the site when we decided to get the Xoom Family Edition. So I tried the app and hoped it wouldn’t make me regret our decision…
Then I searched the iPad2 and felt better when it said to wait for a price drop!
It took some deciding for us on which tablet to go with. We consider it an early Christmas present for ourselves. Using Decide’s app while holiday shopping could save time and money!
