Tales From the Nursery: The Toddler Years

Fancy Pants Diapers Review {Pocket Cloth Diaper}

Here we are… the final review for Cloth Leaves Nothing Behind.  It’s a sad moment because the event is over… though it’s on borrowed time anyway!  I definitely apologize that this review is going up last as I wanted all the grand prize reviews up before that giveaway ended.  But, that’s all right!  You’ll appreciate the introduction to this sponsor I think…

One of the most fun parts about putting this event together was seeking out smaller cloth diaper shops.  I found my way to Fancy Pants Diapers and loved what I saw!  There were minky and silky diapers, cute patterns, great prices, and accessories such as wet bags.

There were too many adorable diapers to choose from that I asked Susan to surprise me!

So she sent me this….

I’ve been wanting a giraffe print diaper and was very excited to receive it.  It was giraffe AND minky!

Sigh.  Love.

Fancy Pants Diapers are pocket diapers with snaps.  They have micro fleece lining and microfiber inserts.  These diapers are $12.50 and come with TWO inserts.  Yes, I said TWO!  I’ve noticed that usually when the cost is lower there is only one included.  The pocket opening has elastic to help keep things in place.  Sometimes this impedes my shake-the-insert-out method of unstuffing, but it’s not that bad.  The pocket itself is roomy making it daddy friendly.  It’s easy to stuff and easy to put on.  Laundry is normal – nothing out of the ordinary.  I’m happy that it has stayed stain free despite Rissa’s soiling tests.

We’ve really used this diaper a lot over the past couple months and I’ve never had a leak.  I think some poo may have been on the leg opening once, but that’s about it.  We’ve used it for regular day use, naptime, and overnight without ant issues.

As you can see here, our model was not wanting to hold still and pose!

The snaps cross over which is helpful for me to get a tighter fit around the waist on my skinny minny.  However, even with that there is a LOT of room in the waist on her.  Some of the other diapers are noted as running smaller (like one I just ordered) so those would probably be a better fit on Rissa.  I have the hip snaps on the tightest setting and the waist crossed over.  At least she has plenty of room to grow and should not outgrow it before she’s using the potty!

Although it is a bit bigger on her, we do like this diaper.  When they fit her looser like this it is actually easier to stuff extra at bedtime.  I definitely recommend these diapers and this shop, especially if the quality stays high and the price low to offer you an economical choice.  Now I’m just waiting for the two I ordered to arrive!  (Shh, don’t tell my husband.)

Find out how this diaper fits a chunky monkey over at Formula Mom and an average size baby over at Mama on a Green Mission.
