Tales From the Nursery: The Toddler Years

Zookies Custom OS Cloth Diaper Cover Review #fallfluff

I used to use prefolds a lot and even a few fitteds.  As Rissa grew out of the fitteds, it seemed I used prefolds less frequently too.  I’m not really sure why.  We have acquired a lot more pocket diapers and she is turning into a heavy wetter.  I suppose that’s why.  Still, they are part of our stash and get used, even if less frequently.  I have a handful of OS covers but she’s grown out of her super cute duo sized covers.

If you are looking for super cute covers made by a mama (gotta support the mom shops!), you’ll want to check out Zookies.  I received an adorable girly custom OS cover with snaps.  These covers can also be made sized and with hook and loop, if you prefer.  There are lots of prints to choose from too!  Zookies offers burp cloths, reusable snack bags and homemade soaps as well.

Features:

  • Custom diaper covers (or look through the ones ready to ship)
  • Cross over snaps or hook & loop with laundry tabs
  • Inner shell is PUL
  • Outer cover is cotton print
  • Sized options or One Size for 10-35lbs
  • Elastic to keep messes contained

Function:

The cover did what it was supposed to do – keep the wetness inside!  It worked with prefolds and fitteds.  I did not have any issues with leaks, so that’s always a good thing.  I used it for regular day use, naps and overnight.  I hate being so short, but… Oh and hey it’s super adorable!

Laundry:

Doesn’t need to be washed every time.  It can be reused several times as long as it is not soiled.  It washes clean and dries quickly on the line.

User Friendly:

This cover is easy to use if you are familiar with using a prefold/fitted with a cover.  The rise on the OS is simple to adjust with snaps in the front.  I did have some issues with them coming undone as I tried putting it on a very wiggly girl.  No diaper would have stood a chance!

Fit:

The fit was decent around the waist and thighs.  I had the waist on pretty small settings and it wasn’t too tight.  There’s a lot of room in the bum.  This is nice for late night over stuffing, but it can annoy her to be that way too often!  I can see why they won’y fit a babe under 10 lbs though it’s nice knowing there should be extra room as she nears potty learning time.  For my skinny one, I think a sized diaper would be a better option.  The OS works, but makes her bum a little baggy.  It still works, just, y’know, mom being picky about the look!

Now that you know how Zookies fit on my tall, thin girl, check out how they work for a chunky monkey and an average sized babe!
