When setting a spa type mood, I think of dimmed lights, soft music, and pleasant scents.  I used to regularly go to a salon and spa for relaxation massages.  After getting into my robe and lounging in the special waiting area (not the main lobby!) in a comfy chair with a trashy magazine, I’d begin to unwind due to the low lights and quietness of hushed voices.  The first thing my massage therapist would ask me as we walked to her room was what scent I wanted.

There were always a variety to choose from, though I preferred fruity over floral.  While she didn’t use candles, she did use some sort of scent diffuser below the table where my head rested.  She also used it in the massage lotion.  After settling on the table, she would tell me to take two deep breaths.  The second one always filled my nostrils with the scent I chose.

It was calming.

One way to replicate that feeling at home is to utilize scented candle and linen sprays.  While I normally prefer fruity, I find lavender to promote restful sleep too!  EdenFantasys has a variety of different candles with intriguing scents such as Bourbon and dark vanilla.  Not sure which one to start with? So where ever you can take some needed “me” time, light a candle or spritz a pleasant scent in the air and breathe!  And even if it’s not “me” time per se, experiment with scents to help set the mood for an intimate night along with other goodies from the sensual love section.
