Tales From the Nursery: The Toddler Years

Find Focus at Talk to the Turtle {Review}

When you have several responsibilities that pull you in multiple directions, it can be difficult to find focus and balance.   Many people find comfort in using methods such as meditation to help keep their mind, body and spirit in balance.  Others turn to crystals and Feng Shui.  At Talk to the Turtle, you can find inspirational jewelry and dangles from the nine paths of Feng Shui.

Each piece is created by the artist Rena C. Campbell to capture the paths of Feng Shui.  They are designed to help provide a focal point for self-affirmation and inspiration.  You can add a crystal if you choose.  The quartz crystal is said to release and clear negative energy.  We all could use some help with that now and again, right?

I was asked to select a path – the one that called out to me.  As I looked over the nine paths, my mind kept being drawn to love.  I hesitated and contemplated asking for health or wealth.  I could certainly use help in the financial area, but love kept pulling me back.  I knew I had to go with the path that I was drawn to right away, kind of like “what’s the first word to come to mind?”  It’s cheating to pick the third word!

I’ve attached the dangle o my purse so it is with me when I’m away from my home or family.  It’s a nice reminder and it is nice to hold and rub between my thumb and fingers, much like a smooth worry stone.  (I never had one of those – did you?)  Love helps ground me when I get frustrated.

If you are seeking assistance to help keep you focused and on track, I can see having one of these as being helpful.  I could also see using my dangle as a focal point the next time I’m in labor.  Last time I focused inward and on the ceiling – on one light fixture in particular!  I’ll have to take my dangle with next time around and see if I am able to keep focused on it.

I know not everyone believes in spiritual healing methods.  I wouldn’t say I’m an avid believer myself.  I’m interested and intrigued, but I need tangible proof before I can say they work or not.  What I can say is this – my correspondence with Rena and receiving my dangle provided a sense of calm.  I did feel drawn to a particular path.  I do believe having a focal point can help a person through a lot of things.

I do really like my dangle…
