Tales From the Nursery: The Toddler Years

Paper Coterie Review

I recently had the opportunity to work with Paper Coterie in order to review their site and service from start to finish.

They are in their beta stage (which means things are still in progress as they get ready to officially launch).  Here is some more information about them:

Paper Coterie is a circle of friends who are passionate about documenting the beauty of life well lived. Whether it’s in a photo book, guest book, journal, or one of our custom personalized books, we’ll help you capture the memories you want to save and share. We’ve also expanded our line of exclusive Paper Coterie calendars to include personalized calendars, desktop calendars, and wall calendars that allow you to document some of your favorite memories from month to month. Want to document your growing child? Don’t worry. We have that covered. Choose from one of our personalized growth charts, wall décor posters, baby books, and shower guest books.

I created a “Polaroid Heart” that is a vinyl adhesive poster.  (They also sent me a necklace with their logo, which is cute!)

You can see a better view here.

I honestly didn’t realize it was a wall sticker.  I thought I was getting a poster sized picture to frame and hang.  It is in the description (now at least), but it wasn’t obvious to me.  I think I’ll still get it framed rather than sticking it to the wall.  Overall, it is of good quality and it looks nice.

The Good:

  • Create a variety of personalized items
  • Reasonable prices
  • Quick processing and delivery (although my order status still says pending)
  • Some stock photos to use
  • Ability to creatively place photos
  • Ability to work on and save projects before purchase
  • It will alert you if the photo you try to add into the project is too low quality or too small
  • You can share your finished projects on Facebook and email.

The Not-So Good:

  • I found the loading time to take long when entering into my project
  • To add/upload more photos, I had to keep going back into my project list, then selecting what I was working on.  I’d like a quicker way to add to my current open project
  • I found the photo rotating to be touchy and clunky, especially for me one handing it on a laptop touch mouse.  (One of my photos apparently didn’t save right after I flipped it because it was printed sideways)

Conclusion: If you are looking for a highly customizable and in-depth photo personalization service – Paper Coterie is for you.  I don’t usually need anything quite so fancy myself.

LOVE the photo heart! Upload time is a bummer for some photo sites but if the end product looks good it kind of balances it out.3Boys_OldLady

That’s too bad that that turned out to be a wall-sticker! I’m sure you’d have designed it differently if you knew. I’m glad they changed the description on the site! I also hate long load times, since I always have so many different apps running on my computer.Beingtazim

This definitely sounds interesting. I can’t see where I would have too much use for it though. But I am sure that there are those out there who would love a service like this.wakela
