12 Days of Gifts Galore: Lalaloopsy Silly Hair Doll

One of the new toy crazes this year is the Lalaloopsy doll. This doll is from the Little Tikes family. It’s refreshing to find a doll that is fun and silly without taking body image into consideration. There are other dolls that seem to emphasize looks a little too much for my taste (and not necessarily in an appropriate manner). This doll isn’t like that and is very unique!

We received Jewel Sparkles, a Lalaloopsy Silly Hair Doll. Lalaloopsy were rag dolls that magically came to life after the last stitch was sewn. Their personality comes from the fabric they are made from. Jewel was made from a real princess dress so she’s graceful but a little bossy. The silly hair dolls take the Lalaloopsy dolls to a new level of fun! The previous dolls were 100% hard plastic. While these dolls are still plastic, their hair is bendable plastic!

They have a special hair brush and you can make their “hair” curly, straight, etc. The buttons and bows snap into place. Even her kitty’s tail is bendable. I like this concept because little girls quickly tangle their dolls’ hair up. This eliminates the nasty knots and ragged looking hair. It also takes away the hair loss some fine haired dolls experience.

These are recommended for girls ages 4 to 8 years old. She is not recommended for children under 3 years old due to the smaller hair acessories, etc, which pose a choking hazard. I figure Rissa can play with her under strict supervision by me (and not be given small parts). And don’t miss out on the newest webisode! They also recently came out with a DS game!

Where to buy: Target, Walmart, Kmart, and Amazon (beware, prices have been jacked up due to selling out since it is one of the hottest toys this year!)

Are you familiar with the candy-filled world of Lalaloopsy?

I started too late looking for one of these for Tosh. I saw it on the "hot" toy list, too.

Such an adorable little doll. My daughter would have loved this doll when she was little. I like that you can change the hair with the brush!

These make me wish I had a little girl! They are so cute! I have seen the boy ones and like them too. One of my friends sent her husband on a search for a certain Lalaloopsy doll for her daughter for Christmas! He got it, but I'm not sure how much fun he had! The things we do for our children!
